Walnut and rift oak cost more than paint-grade mapleWhat moves a price
Inset doors cost the most because each one is fitted to its own opening. Slab and shaker doors cost less. Paint-grade maple usually comes in under white oak, cherry or walnut, but paint takes primer and several coats where a clear finish on oak takes fewer.
Drawers are where a lot of the money goes. Each box, slide and pull-out adds cost, and they're also the part of a kitchen people end up glad they paid for. Height matters too: cabinets up to a 9- or 10-foot ceiling mean extra boxes, doors and molding.
The house itself can add time. Sloped floors, bowed walls and old soffits all slow an install, and tearing out painted cabinets in a pre-1978 home calls for lead-safe work practices.
Countertops, sinks and faucets, tile, plumbing, electrical, appliances and drywall repair are separate. We list what we include and what we don't on every written price.
How our price is built
Your price comes from scaled drawings of each wall. It lists every cabinet by size, the wood and door style, the finish, the hardware, delivery and installation. If you change the design, we reprice it in writing before building.
