Independence Custom Cabinets Co. is a family-owned and operated, licensed and insured custom cabinet shop based in Independence, MO, working on homes here since 2012. The same 6-person crew handles every job, with 14 years of hands-on experience behind it.
Why a small shop
We keep the shop small on purpose. The person who measures your kitchen works next to the people building it, and the people who build it install it. If a wall turns out to be an inch out of plumb, that news travels across the shop floor instead of through a work order.
Most of our work is in Independence, so we know its houses: tall ceilings and plaster near the Square, compact kitchens in the postwar ranches, and 1970s and 1980s kitchens in Blue Springs and Lee's Summit that are ready for a second life.

We build kitchen cabinets and islands, bathroom vanities and linen cabinets, built-in bookcases, window seats, office walls, china cabinets, mudroom lockers, laundry cabinets, pantries and basement bars.
We don't do stone countertops, tile, plumbing or electrical work ourselves. When a project needs them, we say so up front, plan the cabinets around them and coordinate the order of work with whoever you hire.
How we work
- We measure the room ourselves before we draw anything.
- You see scaled drawings and a written price before anything is built.
- Doors, boxes and drawers are built and finished in the shop.
- We bring real door and finish samples to look at in your own light.
- Installation includes adjusting every door and drawer until the gaps match.
- If a door or drawer needs adjusting after the first season of humidity changes, call us.
